When did dates become so casual? When did it become okay to take a girl out to a fast food joint and call it a night out? I'm not against cheap, laid-back dates--I just don't think they should be called "dates." That's like, hanging out. Right?
I just think it'd be nice if a guy took me out dancing every once in a while. Not clubbing dancing, but dancing like in old movies, with the live swing band, or maybe a lounge singer, or something nice like that. I'd like to get a phone call about a date, and have the guy say, "Oh, and you should wear something nice--I don't want you to feel under dressed." I'd love to feel nervous and excited not just about who I'm about to see, but also what we're about to see and do together.
When did I turn into such a sap?
